Profile of Dr. D.K.Y.Wong

Dr Wong obtained both B.Sc.(HONS.) and Ph.D. in electrochemistry from Monash University. He was then appointed as a Postdoctoral Research Associate for two years in the Department of Chemistry at The Pennsylvania State University, U.S.A., before joining the School of Chemistry at Macquarie University as a Lecturer in 1991. He was then promoted to Senior Lecturer in 1996.

 Research Interests 

Dr Wong's main research areas cover electroanalytical chemistry, physical electrochemistry and bio-electrochemistry. These include electroanalytical chemistry at electrodes of micron and submicron structural diameters (i.e. less than one-tenth of the thickness of a human hair), and their applications to the detection and analysis of environmentally relevant metal ions and biologically important electroactive species (e.g. neurotransmitters), electrochemistry at chemically modified and polymer coated electrodes, applications of electrochemistry to neurochemistry, development of electrochemical immunosensors, electrochemical treatment of dye molecules.

Dr Wong is a regular reviewer for a number of international journals including Electroanalysis and Analytica Chimica Acta. He is also an Editorial Board member of (i) The Open Analytical Chemistry Journal and (ii) The Open Current Process Chemistry Journal .
